The most recent addition to the Medal of Honor franchise, Airborne, the PlayStation 3 version, has been shipped to video game stores in North America and will also hit the stands of retail stores in Europe on 30th of November. So, PlayStation 3 gamers should get ready to get airborne as soon as possible.

While, as any new game in a series should do, MoH: Airborne brings quite a few new features, probably the most important new one the game comes with is the player's ability to choose an airdrop location from a C-47 airplane to the battlefield, which means that you can land anywhere you wish and accomplish your mission selecting your own path and tactic. This first step is a very important one, as it may change the course and outcome of the battles completely. Also, the open ground battles offer a variety of strategic, non linear choices with different possible attack routes or flanking opportunities which are able to satisfy everybody's approach to the game.

Also, this nice World War Two experience is completed by the music of Michael Giaccino, who composed for television projects such as Lost or Alias and Hollywood blockbusters Mission Impossible 3 or, most recently, Ratatouille.

The first game in the series was launched back in 1999 and the franchise sold over 31 million copies worldwide since then. The game was initially conceptualized by Steven Spielberg himself, while shooting Saving Private Ryan and was meant to bring a new dimension in the concept of first person shooters. One of the points that prove it was all a success is the airdrop option MoH: Airborne brought us. Also, Giacchino's musical talent was used to bring a musical emotion to the game as well.

Medal of Honor is one of best selling franchise of the EA portfolio. MoH: Airborne is available for PC and Xbox 360, too.
