The developers at Roadhouse Interactive and A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. have announced some more information on their upcoming MechWarrior Tactics, the robot-based combat title to be launched later during the year.

The official description reads: “It's the year 3025. Hostile enemy lances are closing in all around you. As Commander of an elite mercenary company, it's up to you to ensure swift victory and make your enemies pay dearly. Your Mech Bay hosts a vast array of custom Mechs, each configured for a specific combat role. Choose wisely which Mechs to take into battle: your future as the leader of your lances depends on it.”

The game will be free to play and will allow gamers access to a number of mechs with full customization options. It will also give them access to multiplayer engagements against enemies all over the world, both casual and competitive.

It is not clear whether the new Tactics game will use the full MechWarrior license or will feature robots and weapons with new weapons and abilities.
