Developer Piranha Games says that MechWarrior Online will exit its beta stage by the end of summer this year, with a host of new features added to the multiplayer title that will improve the overall experience for all gamers.

Russ Bullock says that the transition to version 1.0 will happen no later than September 21.

Joystiq says that his team does not have plans yet to add any sort of players versus environment gameplay to MechWarrior Online and will continue to add features for the Player versus Player mode.

Updates to the mech-powered video game will continue to be launched every two weeks, and Piranha Games will increase the number of involved players from 16 to 24 in the coming 60 days.

The user interface will also be revamped, and a community warfare update, with clans and houses, will also be added before summer is over.
