The development team at Piranha Games have revealed that they delayed the launch of the open beta stage of MechWarrior Online because a number of those who have taken part in the closed stage have expressed concerns about the state of the game experience.

Paul Inouye, who is the leading designer working on MechWarrior Online, stated on the official forums, “We have decided to push Open Beta back. We agree that the game’s current state of stability is not allowing us to get the latest experience across to new and veteran players alike.”

Piranha Games has launched a patch expected to solve lag problems and supposed to balance the game.

MechWarrior Online was believed to be launched before the end of the year, but given the problems that the title has it might be pushed back into 2013.

The game uses the core lore of the series and allows players to become pilots fighting other mechs in giant battles.
