A viral video shows the clear differences between what you see and what you get

When you make an order at McDonald's, you're looking at a pretty, color-enhanced, carefully elaborated ad that was designed to get those salivary glands flowing and your taste buds tingling.

But what do you actually get in real life? Is that hamburger you're eating the same visually-enticing product?

Buzzfeed wanted to see if the answer to that question was “yes,” and so it set about compiling a video comparison that puts the real product side by side with its ad version. The end result is so disappointing that it's sure to put you off fast food for some time.

While we all know that advertisements end up being idealized versions of the end product, we never really take a good look at that Big Mac, those Cinnamon Melts, those Fries, Quarter Pounders, or Grilled Chicken Salads the hurried employee shoves in our face.

A quick look at the video reveals that everything in commercials has better colors, a much bigger volume and an enticing look. The real product? Not so much.
