A couple from Hermitage, Tennessee ordering at McDonald's drive-thru were handed a bag filled with hundreds of dollars instead of their breakfast order. The money was supposed to be deposited in the bank but ended up at the to-go window.

Greg and Stacye Terry were shocked when, instead of their food, they were served dollar bills and didn't think twice about returning the cash. The money bag surprisingly ended up at the drive-thru employee's window and was handed out to the couple assuming to contain their food order.

After they received the usual McDonalds paper bag, the couple drove off believing they got what they wanted. When Greg opened the package, he couldn't believe his eyes and showed his wife the incredible finding, before immediately noticing that the carefully sorted money was the shop's bank deposit and someone made a big mistake by handing it out.

The biggest surprise was when the McDonald's employee discovered that the money was missing and was accidentally handed out to customers assuming it was food. The horrified employee panicked when she realized that she misplaced the bank deposit and rushed after the couple.

The Terrys were already planning to get into the car and return the money when the scared employee reached their house. “The second that he said it was their deposit, my first thing was let's get in the truck and take it back. There is no other way to have it. I couldn't live with myself,” Stacye aid, according to Daily Mail.

The money was recovered and the branch's manager released a statement thanking the couple for their integrity, “we are looking in to why this mistake happened, but what is most important to us is knowing that we are part of a community with the values that were evidenced by this person's actions.”

The couple hopes that their prompt response will help the McDonald's staff and no employee will be fired for the mistake. The amount from the bag was not released to the press, but the two said that there were thousands of dollars in cash neatly wrapped in plastic just waiting to be deposited in the bank.
