The burger was bought by two teenagers in Australia back in 1995, looks surprisingly tasty for a 20-year-old snack

Casey Dean and Eduard Nitz from Australia claim to be in possession of the absolute oldest burger in the world, a McDonald's Quarter Pounder that they say they bought back in 1995 and have taken really good care of ever since.

Just in case some of you are not in the mood to do any math today, this means that Casey Dean's and Eduard Nitz's burger has been around for an impressive 20 years. Heck, it's a wonder nobody has bothered getting it an ID yet.

Interestingly enough, this McDonald's Quarter Pounder really does not show its age. In fact, it looks quite tasty and appetizing. True, the buns are not quite as plump as they surely were in 1995, but the burger still looks good enough to eat.

Casey Dean and Eduard Nitz explain that they got this rather miraculous burger for one of their friends. When this friend failed to show up for their scheduled meeting, they decided to keep it in its original wrapping rather than just gulp it down, Mirror reports.

“It started off as a joke, you know we told our friend we’d hold his burger for him but he never turned up and before we knew it six months had passed. The months became years and now, 20 years later, it looks the same as it did the day we bought it, perfectly preserved in its original wrapping,” says Casey Dean.

Word has it that the two men plan to eventually eat the burger, just to see what it tastes like. Here's hoping the elderly snack will be gentle with their stomach and will not send them on an adventure to the emergency room.
