MTV Games and Harmonix, the two companies that are in charge of the development for the Rock Band franchise, have announced that on December 28 gamers who are interested in playing some new songs in time for New Year's celebrations will be able to download contributions from the former Beatles man Paul McCartney, Inhabited and Siouxsie and The Banshees.
The downloadable content tracks can be obtained for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii versions of
Rock Band 3 and all the songs have been specifically chosen to show off the new music simulation possibilities of the game.
Paul McCartney is best known for the work he has done with The Beatles, creating many of the best known songs from the legendary band, but he has also had a successful solo career.
The DLC package for Rock Band 3 includes four songs: “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “Band on the Run,” “Helen Wheels” and “Let Me Roll It”.
The last three songs are performed with Wings and are taken from the “Band on the Run” album that McCartney has released in 1973.
The remastering work for all the songs from Paul McCartney has been done at the Abbey Road studios by the same team that has remastered the entire The Beatles catalog that was used in a previous Rock Band game.
Inhabited also offers their track “Open My Eyes” from their second album, called “The Revolution,” while British rock band Siouxsie and The Banshees contributed “Cities in Dust.”
“Let Me Roll It” and the Siouxsie song include upgrades for Pro Bass and Guitar.
The Celebrating Band on the Run pack can be bought for 6.99 dollars, 560 Microsoft Points or 700 Wii Points.
Each track can be downloaded for 160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points or 1.99 dollars, with an extra charge of 0.99 for those who have Pro upgrades.
