McAfee Supports iOS 4 with Trust Digital EMM Suite

McAfee, Inc., the world's largest dedicated security technology company, has released its Trust Digital enterprise mobility management platform for devices running iOS 4, the company confirmed in a July 1 report. The software provides a seamless upgrade path for existing Trust Digital EMM customers, according to its makers. The report also mentions that the Trust Digital platform will be delivering Mobile Device Management (MDM) capabilities, as well as the June 3 closing of its Trust Digital acquisition.

The Santa Clara, California-based security firm believes that enterprises can now better deploy and manage “large fleets of iPhones”, thanks to the release of iOS 4, the latest version of Apple’s operating system for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Granular control of both device and mobile apps is thus provided, eliminating the need for “sandbox” approaches which don’t fall in line with Apple’s view.

Starting today, the McAfee Trust Digital EMM supports devices running iOS 4. Also available as an upgrade to existing EMM customers, the suite includes key features such as “transparent configuring and updating of device settings, as well as monitoring and enforcing compliance of corporate policies such as blocking modified devices, enforcing device encryption and providing wiping/locking capabilities”, the report reads. “In addition, EMM enables device management capabilities for administering McAfee Trust Digital managed iPhone devices that automate the connection of iPhones and other smartphone devices to enterprise services such as WiFi, VPN and email”, McAffe notes.

Already we are leading the industry with a product and road map that offers enterprise-grade security and manageability.”
