If you search for him online, there's an 18% chance that you'll end up on a malicious site

Aquaman, Mr. Fantastic, The Hulk, Iron Man, Superman, Thor, Batman and other superheroes are known for using their powers for good. However, on the Internet, the names of these superheroes are used for all sorts of malicious schemes.

According to McAfee, online searches for the fictional characters often lead to websites that serve spyware, adware, spam, phishing, viruses and other malware.

Apparently, Aquaman is the most toxic superhero, with an 18.60% chance that you’ll come across something nasty if you search for “Aquaman free torrent downloads,” “Aquaman watch,” “Aquaman online” or “Aquaman free trailer.”

Aquaman is followed by Mr. Fantastic, with an 18.22% chance that the search results will point to something malicious.

Other names present in McAfee’s top 15 most toxic superheroes are The Hulk (17.30%), Wonder Woman (16.77%), Daredevil (16.70%), Iron Man (15.63%), Superman (15.21%), Thor (15.10%), Green Lantern (15.00%), Cyclops (14.40%), Wolverine (14.27%), Invisible Woman(12.40%), Batman(12.30%), Captain America (11.77%) and Spider-Man (11.15%).
