McAfee's Cloud Security Platform will make sure that all the primary traffic channels, including email, web and authentication are properly secured, making it easier for companies to fully take advantage of the benefits brought by the cloud.

“Organizations want to take advantage of the time- and money-saving benefits of the Cloud, but they have concerns around data security,” revealed Marc Olesen, senior vice president and general manager, Content and Cloud Security at McAfee.

“Offering comprehensive security capabilities from both Intel and McAfee, we are developing and investing in technology that makes it possible for businesses to more confidently use and trust the Cloud, and subsequently benefit from the savings it can offer.”

By closely working with Intel, they hope that the improvements brought to their products will make organizations overcome the fears regarding potential data losses when working with the new infrastructure.

First of all, the Identity Manager was expanded to integrate the SAML aware and traditional authentication applications. The Data Loss Prevention, on the other hand, will make sure that all the data stored in the cloud is properly categorized, offering the remediation of data across a large number of storage units.

The 7 version of the Email Gateway comes with some new encryption features that include even messages coming from mobile devices.

The Web gateway was also improved to enhance the limitations of corporate liability and exposure, at the same time enforcing corporate web usage policies.

All these components and the Services Gateway, which now expands security for web REST services with new policy controls, provide integration into the ePolicy Orchestrator platform, some of them being controllable and configurable from within the ePO.

The new products are being showcased these days at the 9th International Cloud Computing Expo in Santa Clara where participants will find out all about Intel and McAfee's efforts to improve cloud security.
