McAfee has announced the release of its McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management 9.0, based on the Trust Digital Platform, which the company acquired earlier this year. The McAfee EMM platform reportedly deepens support for iPhone and other iOS devices by supporting iOS 4 and MDM, full and selective device wipe real-time jailbreak detection using proprietary McAfee technology.

The security firm believes that mobile computing has changed the way businesses work, as employees bring the iPhones, iPads and Android phones into the workplace.

Just like with laptop computers, the McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management lets companies extend the data center to smartphones, and leverage the native capabilities of the device and the enterprise IT infrastructure, in order to deliver native apps.

“McAfee empowers large enterprises to support these devices by offering data protection, security provisioning, compliance enforcement and monitoring, and deep enterprise integration to achieve gains in top-line growth, productivity, and competitive advantage,” a report published today by the company reads.

“As mobile devices become our preferred way to access corporate networks, they are increasingly coming under attack,” said Dave DeWalt, president and chief executive officer of McAfee.

DeWalt added that “McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management marks a major milestone in the Trust Digital integration and for the McAfee Mobile group as a whole.”

He also said that EMM enables them to strengthen their leadership position as the most secure mobile device management solution for the enterprise.

The security firm proceeds to list the key features and benefits of McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management 9.0, which include:

- an enhanced McAfee EMM platform trial and simplified installation process; - a new user interface with simple one or two-click navigation (as well as cleaner, easier to understand policy controls); and... - deepened support for Android, via the newly-implemented Android 2.2 MDM, as well as support for the Motorola Droid Pro.

Notably, the McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management also deepens support for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, “supporting iOS 4 and MDM, full and selective device wipe real-time jailbreak detection using proprietary McAfee technology,” the company said.
