The 3.5 inch, 7200RPM, available in SATA and ATA 133 standards have a total capacity of 500GB and will be available starting with the third quarter of this year. Maxtor will be rewarded for offering such a large capacity hard drive; the producer has also received awards for: Maxtor QuickView, MaXLine, DiamondMax, Maxtor Shared Storage si Maxtor OneTouch.
The new 500GB drives will offer significant speed and data administration improvements, thermal optimization and AV stream detection, and will also comply with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) standard.
Maxtor's 500GB devices will be commercially available starting with the third quarter of this year.
