Launched a month ago, Maxthon Mobile has been updated numerous times with new features and performance improvements. The mobile version of the most popular desktop browser in China, has now been updated with photo sync features and expanded RSS support.

Android fans who decide to give Maxthon a try will be able to sync their photos to their Maxthon Passport account.

Maxthon Passport is a free service that allows Maxthon browser users to sync their bookmarks and browser settings from one Maxthon browser to another.

“Maxthon is making it easier for you to have your own internet cloud service,” said Jeff Chen, CEO and founder of Maxthon.

“This latest release builds on the momentum we've created, Among numerous performance improvements, the new version of Maxthon Mobile offers users easy-to-use PC and phone syncing of photos to your free Maxthon Passport account. With a couple clicks, you can easily customize your browser's avatar with a photo of your own, taken on the go,” added Chen.

In addition, the new version offers improved RSS subscription and management options for RSS subscribers on the go.

Maxthon for Android combines a WebKit-based mobile browser and the company's cloud services. Other key features of the application include RSS reader widget, download manager, Super Gestures and Sync capabilities.

Unfortunately, Maxthon Mobile only includes four pre-defined gestures that can be used to open, close, switch and reopen a closed tab. The application does not allow users to add their own gestures yet.

“Maxthon Mobile has created Android analogues to some of its most popular desktop features like: free cloud storage and syncing of bookmarks/favorites, touch screen surfing through finger gestures that let you control the browser without hunting for virtual buttons and knobs, a large, easy-to-use onscreen keyboard Excellent video viewing performance and fast rendering of web pages - anywhere, any time,” concluded Jeff Chen.

Maxthon Mobile for Android is available as a free download from Softpedia. The application is compatible with all devices running Android 1.6 or later.
