Today, Maxthon announced on its community forum that the web browser reached a new stable stage, which delivers a few new features, improvements, and repairs.

Build 4.2.2.1000 of Maxthon Cloud Browser sports a new icon in the Quick Tools section that offers a faster way to reach the built-in Download Manager. Also new is the interface of the “Check for update” window and the screen for installing the program.

The developer worked on improving the core performance and the high DPI display as well as the underline effect marking the hyperlinks.

Plenty of fixes have been integrated in this release, most of them touching on the WebKit core. Reader Mode should now work correctly with the pages it failed to provide a proper display. Furthermore, the glitch preventing the sending of emails through Yahoo! service has been removed.

Additional repairs refer to an issue that caused the keyboard “copy” shortcut to scroll the page and the bug preventing the last visited content in Maxthon start page from being the same with the one in “about:last” section.
