The new video card has a huge cooling fan that’s almost bigger than the card itself

Nvidia has just launched its GDDR5 enhanced GK107 last week and not a whole lot of its add-in-board (AIB) partners are coming up with their own original designs. Chinese company Maxsun has just launched a new GTX 650 video card.

The new product from Maxsun is officially called MS-GTX650 and it has a very short PCB and a large 11-bladed cooling fan.

We’re not sure how much this will help with overclocking, as the cooler base is usually responsible for the fast heat transfer between the GPU die and heatsink, but we’re glad the industry is finally over the 40-millimeter fans that we used to see on the FX 5000 and 6000 series from Nvidia.

The GK107 GPU is based on the new Kepler architecture and the new cards are basically GT 640 cards with GDDR5 replacing the DDR3 memory.

Despite the fact that the cooling system makes the card a dual-slot solution, the manufacturer only provided a single DVI port along with VGA connector and a mini-HDMI port on the backside I/O bracket.
