After introducing the M850 version, Maxian launches a new portable media player called L600. Apparently, this time, the manufacturers focused mostly on the PMP's functionality, rather than on its design. Which is not a bad thing, if you're a conservative person.

The player sports a 4.3" TFT LCD screen and has WQVGA of 480 x 272-pixel resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Maxian launched two versions of the player, flavored with 40 or 80 GB storage capacity, according to the owner's taste, and with a different price tag, of course.

Regarding the capabilities, the player can easily deal with most of the file formats available on the market, such as XviD, WMV9, MPEG1, MPEG2, DivX 3.1, 4.xx, 5.xx, ISO MPEG-4 SP, VOB, DAT, MP4, ASF, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, AC3, AAC, , JPEG, BMP, TXT, SMI, INFORMATION, htm (HTML).

Not to mention that the player can be used for audio/video recording, having a 3Mbps maximum recording speed of 640 x 480 pixels. It works with a rechargeable and detachable lithium Polymer battery 4400mAh and AC adapter.

Among some of the major features of the L600, there's also the capacity to exchange contents for free with the PC and the digital camera backup storage by USB host.

But the PMP itself can be used as an USB host device, meaning that the user can directly connect a digital camera and offload pictures onto the player, for viewing purposes. It also has an in/out AV connection, USB. It plays 5:30of video and almost 8 hours of audio, as Maxian claims.

As for the unit's dimensions, the Maxian portable media player sports a 139 x 78 x 27 mm and a 335g weight, being quite a brick-like PMP. But again, Maxian wanted a smart PMP, not a good-looking one.

If you were wondering about the price tag or the availability, there is no word about either yet.
