14 DAY TRIAL // Rockstar Games has just unveiled the array of downloadable add-ons that it will release for its upcoming Max Payne 3 shooter, which include all sorts of new maps for the competitive and cooperative multiplayer.
Max Payne 3 is set to deliver an intense experience this month, with Rockstar working hard to bring not just a new set of adventures for the protagonist, but also a top-notch multiplayer mode that will also feature story-based sequences and a persistent online experience.
Now, in order to satisfy the curiosity of fans, the studio posted the list of downloadable add-ons that would be released for Max Payne 3.
All of them relate to the multiplayer mode and will start coming out in June, continuing throughout summer, and concluding in fall.
Just like with last year’s L.A. Noire, the developer is also offering a special Rockstar Pass offer, which allows future owners to get all of the DLC for the game at a discount by paying upfront and then waiting for the actual release of the add-ons.
“Players will also be able to order the Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass to get all of the upcoming DLC at a special discounted rate, compared to purchasing each pack individually,” the studio said. “The Rockstar Pass grants you access to all upcoming Max Payne 3 DLC and will be available for 2400 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE), or $29.99 (PlayStation Network and PC) – over a 35% discount compared to purchasing the content individually. Once purchased, the Rockstar Pass enables gamers to download all DLC releasing through the end of 2012 via the in-game store as soon as it is made available on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network, or PC.”
The Rockstar Pass can already be pre-ordered for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, either from U.S. retailers like Best Buy or GameStop, or from the PSN.
The first add-on for Max Payne 3 will be the Local Justice Map Pack, which is going to appear in June.
“The Local Justice Map Pack will include the Police Precinct map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer multiplayer modes. The pack will also feature two additional maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer, new precinct-themed multiplayer avatar items, multiplayer challenges, and more,” Rockstar added.
