14 DAY TRIAL // Former ladies’ man Matthew McConaughey has definitely changed ever since model Camila Alves came into his life. The couple, although not legally married, already have an adorable baby boy and, as of January 3, a baby girl as well. The two have named their daughter Vida, which stands for “life,” as Matthew himself explains in a post on his official website.
“New Year and New Baby! Happy New Year everybody!!!” Matthew writes to his fans. “Vida is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning. Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family. Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers along the way. Another blessed day, we give thanks, just keep livin’. Matthew and Camila,” the actor goes on to say.
As also noted above, before becoming an item with the Brazilian model and designer, back in 2007, McConaughey was relatively famous for his many conquests among Hollywood’s leading ladies. Another thing he got a lot of media for at the time was his carefree lifestyle, the star keeping busy most of the time surfing and doing weird fitness exercises on the beach while not wearing a shirt, for which reason he was almost always surrounded by a crowd of paparazzi on his outings.
The two have another child together, a baby boy they named Levi, who was born on July 7, 2008 and who is now in the running for the cutest celebrity baby, right there with Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Suri Cruise. Although very much in love, as they always make sure they show whenever they come out in public as an item, Matthew and Camila have not announced plans to marry and, as a matter of fact, have never spoken about their intentions for the future in any way.
Both their children, Levi and Vida, bear both their names, Alves McConaughey. In true celebrity fashion, photos of baby Vida and her happy parents should emerge in the media in the following weeks, so keep an eye on this space for when that happens.
