For a few days now, there's been a lot of talk about how Matthew Broderick might reprise his part as Ferris Bueller in a sequel or a remake of the comedy hit “Ferris Bueller's Day Off.” Above is what started all this.

Broderick never planned on shooting a remake – he was shooting an ad for Honda instead. It will play during the Super Bowl and, of course, you can see it in full here.

The vid is inspired or rips off the idea of the comedy classic, showing Matthew taking a “day off” from work by claiming to be sick, just so he can go out and enjoy life.

Of course, this time, nothing happens for laughs, but to allow Matthew to move from one place to another in his Honda.

While, at first sight, there might seem like there's nothing wrong with the ad, fans of the film don't appreciate Honda riding on its coattails for publicity – let alone what came out of said ridding of the coattails.

You be the judge.
