Matt Lauer is (reportedly) one foot out the door from The Today Show after the Ann Curry stunt he pulled, but which he continues to deny. A new report suggests he might have already found a home or, at the very least, is close to finding it.

In 2016, “Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek will bow down and producers are already looking at possible replacements.

Matt Lauer is frontrunner on that list, Page Six writes, citing sources close to the production and, admittedly, well informed about these plans.

“Right now, Lauer’s name is at the top of the list, several sources say,” the e-zine vouches.

Another possible candidate is Anderson Cooper who, as fans must know, didn’t exactly break audience records with his new talk show, so he too might be looking to move on to other projects.

Assuming this report is accurate, would you watch The Today Show without Matt? Even a better question is, would you watch “Jeopardy” if he was the host?
