The Today co-host is definitely trying to clean up his image, word has it

Matt Lauer isn’t exactly the most avid Twitter user, as neither is he known for engaging in conversations with people who don’t even follow him or whom he doesn’t follow. However, he’s drawing the line if you say he’s “not nice.”

It all started when a former NBC intern, Mark Zinni, now an Ohio-based Fox anchor, told one of his followers (which quoted him afterwards) that Lauer was “not nice” to him when he met him.

“‘I was just a young kid with a bright future ahead of me,’ @markzinni talking about internship at @todayshow and ‘not so nice’ @MLauer,” read the original tweet.

It was more than enough to upset Lauer, who immediately tweeted back to Zinni.

“@MarkZinni huh? Always tried to be nice Mark. Sorry you didn't think so. Hope you're doing well. Matt,” he wrote.

Considering the negative media attention Lauer has been getting these past few weeks, many see this tweet as yet another sign of cleaning up his image by debunking whatever rumors about him might be making the rounds.
