The Independent Film Project will honor Matt Dillons' career during its 15th annual Gotham Awards ceremony in New York.

The association will confer six other awards: Best Feature, Best Documentary, Best Ensemble Cast, Breakthrough Director, Breakthrough Actor and Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You, during the Nov. 30 ceremony.

The "Herbie Fully Loaded" star has recently signed on to star opposite Kate Hudson in the comedy "You, Me and Dupree"

His second 2004 film 'Crash' was released on home video Tuesday.

'We`ve all watched Matt grow up on camera, but I don`t know how many of us have really stopped and taken a long look at the tremendously accomplished body of work that he continues to build,' IFP Executive Director Michelle Byrd stated in a news release.

Among the previous recipients of the IFC Gotham Award are Robert DeNiro, Meryl Streep, Don Cheadle, Julianne Moore, Susan Sarandon, John Turturro and Sigourney Weaver.
