He’s known for packing some extra weight or, on the contrary, getting super-fit for a role, but Matt Damon surprises again. This time, he’s shaved off all his hair as he goes back to work, shooting for a new movie.

The other day, the actor was spotted out and about, presumably after a day’s work on set, rocking a freshly shaved ‘do that, as Lainey Gossip puts it, actually made him look many years younger.

Not that Damon looks old by any means. Just that, with his new ‘do, bulging muscles and biking game on, the actor actually seemed to have shaken off some years.

“Matt Damon’s been in Vancouver the last few weeks shooting a movie. He was spotted yesterday, without hair, riding along the seawall with his wife and children and other family members,” the e-zine writes.

“Some people don’t so great bald. He doesn’t look bad at all bald. In fact, it makes him look a lot younger. Look at him in the helmet. Like Good Will Hunting again, right?” Lainey Gossip asks.

As for the movie Damon is shooting in Vancouver, not that many details are available right now.

It’s supposed to be called “Elysium,” star Jodie Foster, William Fichtner and Sharlto Copley, and come out in early 2013.

Described as Sci-Fi on the IMDB page, the film also lists Neill Blomkamp as writer and director. Since he’s known for the critical and commercial hit “District 9,” there’s some talk about whether “Elysium” is not some sort of sequel to “District 9.”

Even if it isn’t, it should still make for a really compelling watch, Lainey Gossip underlines.

“Very exciting. Because the last time Blomkamp and Copley worked together they gave us District 9. Elysium is once again a sci-fi feature, once again set in the future-ish. And beyond that, we don’t know much,” the e-zine notes.

Until “Elysium” comes out, fans can catch Matt Damon together with a star-studded cast in the post-apocalyptic “Contagion,” which comes out later this year.
