The development team at 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver are now ready to officially announce the existence of the new Metro Redux package, after a series of leaks and rumors about the title offered gamers hints about its content.

The package includes both Metro 2033 and Last Light, both of them redesigned to take full advantage of the extra power included in the new Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

The first title in the series has been entirely recreated using the most recent version of the 4A Engine, which means that the gameplay has been extended and improved, while the graphics make the world look better than ever before.

The major changes are linked to advanced lighting, dynamic weather, characters with much more details and new animations, destruction during firefights and improvements made to show smoke, fire and particles interact.

The enemy Artificial Intelligence of Metro 2033 is also better able to challenge the player, with better use of stealth and improved awareness during battles, and the gamer can use silent kills and takedowns as well as more responsive weaponry to take out his enemies.

For Metro: Last Light, the development team promises a graphical improvement and changes to gameplay that include new animations for melee attacks, check watch and check inventory features.

The game also includes all the downloadable content that 4A Games has created and launched, which adds about 10 hours of gameplay to the core narrative.

Metro Redux also adds a new Play Styles feature, allowing players to choose how they want to experience the game world.

In Survival mode, gamers will have to deal with limited resources, slower reload speeds for weapons and much deadlier enemies, features that emphasize the cruel nature of the game's universe.

In Spartan mode, players will get more combat-focused skills and resources, which means that the entire experience will be more action oriented.

Those who have not played any Metro titles before can also use the Ranger mode, which introduces more immersion than ever.

Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux will each be offered separately as a digital download for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, as well as the PC, for 24.99 dollars or 19.99 Euro.

A boxed version of the two titles will be offered at retail for 49.99 dollars or 39.99 Euro.

Deep Silver is not yet willing to talk about an official launch date, but the package should be out before the end of summer, with a SteamOS version planned for later in the year.
