It's more than obvious that everyone is trying to find out what did Materazzi say to Zidane to make the Frenchman so mad. And, until Zidane will tell the press what really happened on the field - and his agent said he would, in a couple of days - there is enough room for allegations. And all the newspapers, especially the English ones, started making guesses. And that would be ok, but some of them proved to be pretty racial. But hey, the hell with it, as long as we make the Italian come up front with it, right?
As a consequence of
those written the past day, Inter defender wanted to make it very clear for everyone that he did not call Zidane neither a "bloody terrorist", nor a "dirty Muslim". These were just two alleged insults that Materazzi had said to Zizou in that fatal 110th minute. Marco stated, though, that none of that was true.
"It is absolutely not true. I did not call him a terrorist. I'm ignorant. I don't even know what the word means", explained Materazzi as soon as he got off the plane in Rome, on Monday. Still, the French newspapers insist that the Italian defender called Zidane a terrorist - which, for an Algerian-born player is one of the greatest insults possible.
As for Zidane's agent, Alain Migliaccio, he stated that he knows nothing about any insult and that the player did not want to tell him what happened on the field: "He told me Materazzi said something very serious to him but he wouldn't tell me what... he didn't want to talk about it but it will all come out in the next week. He is a man who normally lets things wash over him but on Sunday night something exploded inside him. He was very disappointed and sad. He didn't want it to end this way".
Migliaccio also stated that the French midfielder will make an official statement as soon as possible - that means in a few days - in which he will explain his actions on the field.
