One of the most promising adventure games of the year is dtp Entertainment's
Mata Hari, a classic
point and click title designed by two industry legends, Hal Barwood (Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis) and Noah
Falstein (Indiana Jones and the last Crusade). For those of you who want to enjoy the famous spy in detail, before the game is launched, the developers have created a website you can visit
here.
So, until Mata Hari seduces the players in-game with her talents, she will offer you all the information you need on the website: news (but you can check it right here, on Softpedia) about the title, screenshots, artworks and lots of other details, as any official website of a game should. However, the designers have done something different: just like Shakespeare, they seem to consider that the world is a stage. Oh, and they are also offering us a lot of background information on some of Mata Hari's famous contemporaries. Just visit the website and you'll see what I mean.
Now, back to the game, you should know that, in Mata Hari, players will slip into the role of the female spy and start uncovering critical secrets in a right before World War I universe filled with celebrities: we will meet, along our way, scientist Marie Curie, Major Georges Ladoux - her first contact with French secret service activities, Major Arnold von Kalle - the supervisor of German secret service activities in Madrid and the one who gave Mata first contact to Germany. We'll also meet renowned Mrcdes Jellinek (the person responsible for the name of the German automobiles) and the Swiss Oscar Samsonet, Mata Hari's tutor.
dtp Entertainment will release this really promising title in October 2008 and we're hoping that the launch day will also bring us a great, exclusive show from Mata Hari on her website's stage.
