It should be good for any notebook measuring 10 to 17-inch notebooks

In the past, I got to see and write about a whole bunch of notebook coolers, some not good for anything larger than 15.6 inches, which struck me a bit odd. Thermaltake's new model isn't that odd.

I say odd because the strongest and hottest laptops are the 17-inch variety, so it would stand to reason that cooling stand makers would ensure support for them.

Then again, 17-inch or larger cooling pads aren't all that necessary for anyone besides hardcore gamers and professional workstation owners. After all, if you buy a 15.6-inch gaming PC to still have some easy mobility, a 17-inch cooling pad would not make sense.

Still, Thermaltake has introduced a cooling pad good for 10-inch to 17-inch laptops. It is called Massive TM (and no, I don't mean the TM that stands for trademark).

The newcomer is actually better endowed than most of its peers. Not surprising, given that, as a large model, it is bound to only be bought by owners of huge laptops (and, by extension, people with money).

So why not pack it with more than the usual share of features. Convenience may as well be part of the spec sheet at this point.

First off, there are two 120 mm fans, both of them with temperature regulation. That way, when the laptop isn't making too much heat (and, thus, isn't doing anything strenuous), things run quietly.

There is sensor monitoring in four different areas actually (0° C ~99° C). That way, the hottest area of the notebook is pinpointed and shown on a multi-function display panel (which has a fan control and lock button as well). The maximum speed of the fans is 1300 RPM.

As for the shape, the Massive TM has a brushed aluminum panel and a large area of hexagonal shape cooling mesh (low wind resistance and wind noise). Thermaltake did not specify a price yet.
