After AMD's declarations regarding the elimination of the monthly releases of Catalyst drivers and their replacement with more often beta and game-specific versions, here's a heap of yet unofficial drivers for you to install and try.
These drivers come from the Benchmark3D forum and like with any other similar download, we cannot and will not offer any warranty. Nevertheless, users who have installed them haven't reported “funny things,” and this makes a good start.
First on the list is the 7900 MOD 12.6 Catalyst for Windows 8, bringing the 1st Application Profiles for this driver version and with a Control Center that now detects HD 7900 cards. This modded release also comes with unlocked Temporal AA, High Quality AF, Geometry Instancing, LOD option, Adaptive Anti-Aliasing Quality Slider (can be buggy), Test Custom Clocks and Auto-Tune options under OverDrive.
Then comes the 12.6 Catalyst Beta, also with the 7900 MOD, with a warning for XP users, which will not be able to install this driver through the Catalyst Install Manager, and are advised to run a manual install. XP 64-bit is supported, modders say. You can also download the non-modded version, bearing the same 8.98 packaging version, dated June 4th, exactly like the MOD version.
Finally, one more 12.6 Beta released June 12th, with driver packaging version 9.00, possibly closer to the stable release. The 9.00 Beta does not come with XP support, but it will run with Windows 8.
