'Officially' as in BioWare's Greg Zeschuk himself confirmed it

Those who have been reading the news lately might have heard last week that EA signed with Elevation Partners to grab VG Holding Corp, owners of both BioWare Corp. and Pandemic Studios. Naturally, everyone hoped that this would make BioWare's Mass Effect a multiplatform title. Mere days have passed since the EA announcement and BioWare is already smashing hopes of those not owning a 360:

"The thing we can tell you about the future of Mass Effect very simply is that there's going to be a trilogy; we've been on record in the past as saying we want that whole trilogy to be on the console", BioWare's Greg Zeschuk told GameDaily.

"We have no plans currently to pursue that. Our focus is pure and simple; it's to deliver the best game possible for our fans with Mass Effect, and that's an Xbox 360 exclusive. Microsoft's a great partner...and they've really helped build the value of the product and we're proud to work with them."

A real bubble burster for owners of consoles other than Xbox 360, but really inspiring words for those actually owning Microsoft's next-gen machine. Life isn't fair, PS3 owners, we know.

Mass Effect is a Sci-Fi RPG currently under heavy development over at by BioWare Corp. The company is also responsible for titles such as Jade Empire, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Baldur's Gate series.

Mass Effect looks like it's still an exclusive Xbox 360 game, as previously announced, being published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game also comes in a Limited Collector's Edition. Here's what it contains:

■ Fiction Book: Galactic Codex: Essentials ■ Mass Effect Art Book: A Future Imagined ■ 2nd DVD with exclusive videos about Mass Effect (Art of Mass Effect, Interactive Storytelling of Mass Effect)

Bioware's RPG is due out on the 23rd of November this year for the Xbox 360. Oh, we've mentioned that a couple of dozen times already, hehe...
