In a recent update, Project Director at BioWare, Casey Hudson, revealed some more details about their highly anticipated "
Jack Bauer in Space" game, as the director likes to call it.
Mass Effect, as Hudson stated, is going to be a one-disc-game, on which the data "barely" fits. Now, what is that supposed to mean? That the game has had a little trimming done here and there? Just a figure of speech nonetheless, but it is the kind of statement that gives birth to a lot of nasty
rumors,
especially if anyone remembers it after the game will be launched and gamers discover some faulty features.
Anyway, Hudson also said there also are a lot of customization options that the player can use, like tweak the main character's gender, facial features, class, starting skills and a lot more great stuff that falls in the hands of the player and not the developer's, concerning the way a player wants to see his game perform. The game's soundtrack, as Hudson's exact words were, is a "huge original score," but he doesn't mention anything else that might give it away. The ambiance is also said to be a great one.
Mass Effect is an action
RPG under development by BioWare, exclusively tailored for the
Xbox 360's features, scheduled for release on 22 May 2007 and it will be the first installment of a planned trilogy. The game takes place in the year 2183, with the player assuming the role of an elite human soldier named
Commander Shepard. The plot is about an ancient alien prophecy stating that, every fifty thousand years, machines come to the galaxy to harvest all organic life.
The newly revealed info about Mass Effect trough a Reader Q&A, regarding the game's data size, avatar customization, and custom soundtracks isn't where BioWare stops. Until the game is launched (22 May in N America) the developers still have time to announce new stuff regarding their first installment that promises to be a great game series for
Microsoft's Xbox 360 console.
