The game was initially launched as a Nokia exclusive
Electronics Arts and Nokia teamed up back in May to bring the Mass Effect: Infiltrator game to fans of the franchise who own a Windows Phone handset made by the Finnish company.Unfortunately, Windows Phone enthusiasts who own another smartphone other than Nokia weren't able to download Mass Effect: Infiltrator due to the game being exclusive to the Finnish handset maker for an undisclosed period of time.
Well, it appears the exclusivity period has just ended as Electronic Arts has just release Mass Effect: Infiltrator on Windows Phone Store, so everyone owning a compatible smartphone can just purchase and download it. Here is an excerpt from the game's official description:
“As Commander Shepard battles Reapers across the galaxy, veteran Cerberus agent Randall Ezno procures aliens for illicit experiments at a secret facility. But when the Director of the facility goes too far – Randall fights back and vows to bring Cerberus down!
Can you fight your way off the hostile Cerberus base and deliver their secret research to the Alliance?”
Mass Effect: Infiltrator is a pure shoother game, which might be unusual for mobile phones. The controls may not be so hard to master, but many players complained the game is a bit too hard due to the fact the enemy is swarming you, as you further progress into the game.
The good news is Windows Phone fans can try Mass Effect: Infiltrator on their smartphones before purchasing it, as EA also released a short demo.
“Harness the fury of high-tech armor and weapons. Unleash biotic powers, stealth cloak abilities, and devastating melee attacks. Upgrade your gear and performance with credits – the quicker and more stylish your kills, the more credits you’ll earn. Also, access the bonus Turian mission and escape the medical bay...alive!
Crush Cerberus and shape the future of the galaxy. The outcome depends on YOU in Mass Effect: Infiltrator!”
You can now download Mass Effect: Infiltrator for Windows Phone for $3.99 / €2.99 via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind the game should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 8 and up.
