Mass Effect 3, the role playing game and action hybrid that developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts will launch in March of this year, will get a new comic book series for promotional purposes and the main character for the first issues will be a new side kick called James Vega.

Previous comic books associated with the universe allowed fans to understand better the motivations and characters of important series players like the Illusive Man, who was important in the second game in the series, and Aria T’Loak.

The comic book series will be written by Mac Walters, who is the lead writer on Mass Effect 3, which means that it will likely keep the same tone and quality as the game.

Each installment will focus on one character that is important to the Mass Effect universe and will appear in April both in brick and mortar stores and in digital space.
