A new Mass Effect title might not be officially revealed by the development team at BioWare, but the studio is still interested in learning about the things that fans of the series want to see from the new installment in the long-running series.

Michael Gamble, a producer at the studio, has used his official Twitter account to post a link to a short survey with a number of clear questions that are designed to help his team to better understand how the community related with the series.

All those interested can answer the questions in order to make sure that BioWare knows how they want the upcoming Mass Effect title to play.

Fans are asked about the franchises that they have played and the games they were involved with in the past two weeks.

The entire survey takes no more than 10 minutes to get through.

It seems that the response from the community has already been impressive, and Gamble adds, “Overwhelming response to the survey so far. I've got reading material for a month. Keep em' coming.”

An official panel about the yet unannounced game will be held at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, and there, BioWare might announce an official name and other details.

But the company will probably remain rather vague about the core gameplay mechanics of the game and about the story that it is aiming to tell.

It will be interesting to see what the developers at BioWare will do with the information that they get from fans via the survey.

The initial Mass Effect trilogy focused on Commander Shepard and on his fight to stop the Reaper threat to the Galaxy and to sentient life.

The games used third-person cover-based shooter elements and exploration mechanics, and BioWare also included its traditional focus on characters and on storytelling.

Many gamers were disappointed with the ending of the third title in the series, and the studio delivered downloadable content that expanded on it and clarified a number of unclear elements in the narrative.

The new Mass Effect title will explore a new set of characters, and BioWare has also suggested that it will introduce a new set of core gameplay mechanics.

At the moment, the company is focusing on the launch of Dragon Age: Inquisition, which will be offered on October 7 on the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and current-gen consoles.
