BioWare has just revealed a few more details about its upcoming Mass Effect 3 role-playing game, saying that players will be thoroughly impressed with the story and by its epic moments that will capture the "magic" of the franchise.

Mass Effect 3 is by far one of the most anticipated games of the year, as it will end the trilogy of critically acclaimed space-themed RPGs from BioWare with a serious bang.

We've been hearing lots of news about Mass Effect 3 in the last few weeks from all sorts of magazines, as well as from its developer, BioWare.

Now, the executive producer of the game, Casey Hudson, has talked with PSM3, via CVG, about the key moments in Mass Effect 3, and how they will impress players, not just through scale but by their major significance.

"There are certain things you want to do when making a game that are part of the 'magic' of the experience. Those things aren't necessarily the big things - they're often little moments," he said.

"There's a lot of this in Mass Effect 3. The whole game is filled with really epic moments, but I think the story will really start to hit home when players start realizing things about Shepard's personal life, through sacrifice on a galactic scale."

Mass Effect 3 will see its protagonist, Commander Shepard, try to rescue both humanity as well as the universe in front of an invasion from an evil race of sentient space ships called the Reapers.

In order to do so, the hero or heroine, depending on your choice, needs to call forth on all of the connections he or she have forged throughout the first two games and unite the universe under a common goal.

Lots of new things will be added, from a more refined combat system, with an emphasis on melee and close quarters fights, to the return of role-playing elements like weapon upgrades or diversified skill trees that allow a better customization of Shepard's powers.

Mass Effect 3 still hasn't received a concrete release date, sadly, so fans need to wait for its eventual release at the end of the year.
