Mass Effect 3 came out last week and it seems that the disappointment of some fans is continuing to grow. After quite a lot of them assaulted the game’s Metacritic page with low user scores, many are now petitioning developer BioWare, asking the studio to change the ending of the game.

Tens of millions of fans have eagerly awaited Mass Effect 3 for a long time, wanting to see just what happens to Commander Shepard and how he concludes the fight against the Reapers.

The game finally appeared last week and, even if sales figures are pretty good, plenty of problems appeared. They ranged from technical ones, like errors relating to the import system of save files from previous games, to content ones, as lots of people criticized it on its Metacritic page.

Now, as more and more people complete the game, general disappointment is at an all-time high. In order to make BioWare see the error of its ways many Mass Effect fans are making their voices heard on the studio’s forums.

The most impressive effort is a poll on the BioWare Social Network where players simply vote whether or not they liked the endings they got in the standard game. A whopping 22,500 people wholeheartedly disagree with the conclusion of the title’s story, while 2,200 want a few tweaks, and just 600 people are pleased with BioWare’s official ending.

Many fans are also proposing different ending versions, with the most popular one being expressed in this poll. We won’t detail it, as this article is meant to be free of spoilers, but you can read all about it at the aforementioned link.

Campaigns to change the game’s ending are also happening on other social networks, like Facebook, where over 10,000 people want a new conclusion, or on Twitter.
