14 DAY TRIAL // The NPD Group report no longer offers actual sales numbers but a representative of the firm has confirmed that the best selling video game for the month of March, Mass Effect 3, has managed to sell 1.3 million units on all platforms.
According to a Tweet from a journalist the Xbox 360 version of the game has managed to move 943,000 units to gamers, which is more than four times the total for the PlayStation 3 Mass Effect 3 port.
Mass Effect 3 probably sold more units than the NPD Group knows because the game was also released via digital distribution on the PlayStation Network and on the PC via Origin, which he company does not track.
EA has said that sales for Mass Effect 3 were twice those seen by the original game in the series.
The title has generated a lot of positive coverage but a number of fans have generated a controversy about the ending of the series.
