The next multiplayer challenge weekend for Mass Effect 3 players is called Operation Overwatch and tasks participants with completing as many extractions as possible no matter the difficulty, enemy, or squad composition.

Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode has been a huge success thanks to the array of challenge weekends organized by developer BioWare, which tasked players with completing various goals and objectives.

After the failure of Operation Broadside, as players weren’t able to complete the necessary number of missions, the studio has now revealed Operation Overwatch.

As always, the challenge has two goals, a squad one, for individual players, and an allied goal, for the whole community, which you can check out below.

Squad Goal: Extraction on any difficulty with at least one squad member using an Earth Pack character

Allied Goal: Extract 800,000 individual players on any difficulty, with each live member counting toward the goal. Rewards include a Commendation Pack, for the squad goal, and a Victory Pack, which has a new Mass Effect 3: Earth DLC character, for the Allied Goal.

In case you already have all your Earth characters unlocked and with all their appearance options, the Victory pack will include a random Rare (Gold) item for something you’ve yet to unlock.

Due to the failure in Operation Broadside, a special circumstance is now in effect, as the extraction rounds will take longer to complete. BioWare declined to say just how long they’ll be extending the in-game period, but you can expect to spend some more time fighting off enemies before being extracted.

Mass Effect 3’s Operation Overwatch starts on Friday, July 27, at 10am PDT, ends on Monday, July 30, at 5am PDT, and will be available across platforms like the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 ones.

Don’t forget that another balance update has just gone live for the multiplayer in Mass Effect 3, so check it out in order to learn what changes have been made.
