Mass Effect 3 is set to receive its first story-based add-on for its single-player campaign later today, in the form of the Leviathan DLC across platforms like PC, PS3, or Xbox 360.

Mass Effect 3 came out back in March and, since then, developer BioWare has supported the role-playing shooter with all sorts of content, mostly aimed at its multiplayer mode.

Now, after releasing the free Extended Cut add-on, which clarified the game’s endings, and the Firefight Pack, which added new weapons to the campaign, BioWare is getting ready to deploy the Leviathan add-on.

In case you forgot, the new expansion takes Shepard on a new series of quests in search of the mysterious Leviathan, a being rumored to know much about the evil Reapers and even a way to destroy them.

Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC is out today, August 28, for the PC and Xbox 360 all around the world and for the PS3 in North America. European PS3 owners need to wait until tomorrow, August 29, to get the add-on.

It can be purchased for 800 BioWare points on the PC via Origin, 800 MS Points on the Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Marketplace, and $9.99/€9.99 on the PS3 via the PS Store.
