The Mass Effect 3 ending debate is getting more and more serious, as quite a few unsatisfied fans have begun crafting their own conclusions to the game, instead of accepting the ones from developer BioWare.

Mass Effect 3 was released last week and BioWare hyped up the fact that an epic conclusion would be brought to the adventures of Commander Shepard.

According to many fans, and to our own review, the ending wasn’t that impressive, sadly. As such, plenty of players have started making their voices heard through polls on the BioWare Social Network, petitions, and campaigns on Facebook or Twitter.

Some fans have even gone so far as to create their own endings for the game designed to replace or join the conclusions written by BioWare.

Such is the case with DeviantArt user Arkis, who published a new ending for Mass Effect 3, in which a new option is added to the ones made by BioWare.

Be careful, as the following bits of text contain some major spoilers for the game.

Basically, besides the endings made by BioWare in which you can choose to eliminate, control or combine with the Reapers, depending on your previous choices, War Assets and other things, the ending made by Arkis adds a whole new option.

If you choose it, Shepard goes on to explain to the Stargazer (the small child) that humanity and the current races inhabiting the universe have proven that they can break the fabled “cycle”.

A lengthy conversation follows in which the hero turns the Reapers’ argument against them and just lets the combined Alliance forces fight against the sentient space ships.

The whole thing should be read entirely at the link mentioned above and is definitely worth checking out if you weren’t happy with BioWare’s conclusion.
