Provided you invest points in the right powers, you're going to have a blast with her

Mass Effect 3’s already impressive multiplayer received a dose of new content last week in the form of the Resurgence DLC, which brought forth new maps, characters, weapons and equipment to the game’s online mode.

I’ve already highlighted some of the characters from the Resurgence pack, from the Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard, to the Geth Infiltrator and Engineer, or the Batarian Soldier and Sentinel.

Now, it’s time to talk about the last character introduced by this free DLC, the Asari Justicar Adept.

I really like playing with adepts and the two alien characters in this class, the Asari and Drell, are among my favorites, although I’d sometimes want a bit more protection when I’m causing all sorts of Biotic explosions.

When I saw that the Asari Justicar can use both Reave and Pull, thus causing explosions by herself, while deploying a protective Biotic Sphere, I desperately wanted to get it as soon as possible.

Sadly, the random unlocking mechanic played some cruel tricks on me and, after getting all of the other characters twice, I finally received the Asari Justicar.

After playing a few matches, I can say that the Justicar is a pretty good character, although you do need to be careful when allocating your points.

The Reave ability is quite powerful, as the more you use it, the more the damage sustained by an enemy amplifies. What's more, when combined with Pull, you're in for some impressive Biotic explosions, provided you spent points in increasing the power of these detonations.

The Biotic Sphere, however, is where things get tricky. When I first saw this ability, I immediately thought of Samara, the Justicar character that appears in the last two games, and how she used a sphere to protect Shepard during the Suicide Mission from the second game.

Sadly, that’s not exactly how things go, as the sphere can be customized to either improve the shields of the people inside it or to increase the damage sustained by enemies who enter it.

Sure, it may not be as bullet-proof as some players had hoped for but, in the right hands, it can prove to be quite destructive, as you can ensure either your team’s survival during extraction waves, or create major biotic explosions with the enemies that enter it.

Have you had the chance to experiment with the Asari Justicar or are you having fun with other characters?
