BioWare has released the full details of its upcoming Mass Effect 3 demo, including information about its content and how Battlefield 3 owners will be able to access the online cooperative mode earlier than the rest.

Mass Effect 3 is one of the biggest games set to appear this year, so BioWare wants everyone to have a great experience with its upcoming demo, which is scheduled to be deployed onto the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 14.

We already knew that the trial would have two segments, a single-player one that showed off parts of its story, and an online section, which presented the all-new cooperative Galaxy at War mode. Now, BioWare has confirmed the full details about the Mass Effect 3 demo and its two special segments.

“There are two sections in the Mass Effect 3 demo, both included as part of a single download: The single player section includes 2 areas: the opening level featuring the Reaper attack on Earth, and a level further into the game where Shepard travels to an alien home world to seek their assistance in the war effort. This will be approximately 1 to 2 hours of content,” BioWare revealed.

“The co-op multiplayer section includes 2 maps: Slum and Noveria. This section will be open to players who have qualified for the early multiplayer access as of Feb 14, and will then open up to all players on Feb 17.”

Early Multiplayer Access will be offered to those who bought Battlefield 3 and activated its Online Pass, while being connected to their EA/Origin accounts. If you have already done this, the multiplayer portion of the demo will be automatically unlocked when you access it.

Expect to hear more details about the demo and the early access, as we get closer to its release next month. Until then, feel free to check the minimum and recommended PC requirements here.
