Mass Effect 3, the upcoming sci-fi role-playing game from BioWare will receive a demo before its release next year, as its producer confirmed that plenty of details are scheduled to arrive soon enough.

Mass Effect 3 is set to end the trilogy of sci-fi, third-person shooter, role-playing titles from BioWare which focus on Commander Shepard, as he, or she, depending on the players’choices, needs to defend Earth as well as the whole universe from the threat of a race of sentient space ships called the Reapers.

We've been hearing a lot of things about the title in the last few months, from how it will portray Shepard, to the new powers of the protagonist, the appearance of squad mates from earlier games or other such things.

Now, Mass Effect 3 executive producer Casey Hudson has confirmed, via CVG, that details about a demo for the game will be published soon, saying that, "Stay tuned for news on demo plans in a few months."

Judging by previous BioWare demos, like with Dragon Age 2, fans of the Mass Effect series can expect to try out the third game a few weeks before its release, now scheduled for March 6, 2012, on the PC, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 platforms.

Until then, Hudson is expected to appear at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month, where he'll be a part of a panel ran by Hollywood company Legendary Pictures, during which he'll talk about the upcoming Mass Effect movie adaptation.

A film based on the game series has been rumored for quite some time, but only recently did BioWare or Legendary Pictures admit that the project is currently being planned. More details are certain to surface during the convention in San Diego later this month.
