Fans should expect a different Asgard, a brand new baddie

Without a doubt, things have changed for Marvel superheroes because of “The Avengers,” officially the biggest superhero movie to come from the studio. This begs the question of the direction the “Thor” sequel will take.

Confirmation has already been made that many of the characters in the first film will return (including the stars who played them), and now Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige disses the dirt on the baddie.

Thanos will not be it, Feige tells Empire Magazine.

“No, future, future. But there will be a major new villain. A major, major new antagonist…,” he says.

He also promises a different feel for the entire film, starting with the way the Kingdom of Asgard is presented.

“We’re going to see the other side of Asgard. It’s not all polished and golden in this film. And the events of Avengers will have affected Thor for sure. His relationship with Loki will continue to evolve, and the biggest part is Natalie and Thor returning with Jane Foster,” Feige explains.

“Thor 2” was supposed to come out next summer, but its release date was pushed back to November 2013.
