Marton Csokas (Lord of the Rings, Kingdom of Heaven, The Bourne Supremacy), who has been given the leadin parts in the new Miramax's war drama The Great Raid and the British drama Asylum, both opening this weekend, will also star opposite Charlize Theron in Æon Flux, the upcoming version of Peter Chung's MTV animated series.
The 39-year-old actor will play Chairman Trevor Goodchild in the movie which is due for a December release.
"Chairman Trevor Goodchild is the political leader and governor of the last bastion of civilization 400 years into the future. Pete Chung's animated work is a fine piece of work and I adored that, so I wondered why somebody would want to make a film about it.
Because of the original material, I think it got my curiosity, and what [director] Karyn Kusama wanted to do with it was to take those political and sexual themes, and the subversive qualities of it, and put it into a more human world, but not leave that hyper-reality behind either.
That's certainly the way that we shot it. We tried to root it in the human experience in the sci-fi genre", the actor told ComingSoon.net
