14 DAY TRIAL // Former American Idol star, singer, songwriter, and actress Katharine McPhee rarely makes headlines in the tabloids but, for the past couple of days, countless reports have been coming in to say that she is cheating on her husband.
McPhee has been married to producer Nick Cokas since 2008, but word online has it that she’s now dating Michael Morris, one of the directors of the hit series “Smash,” on which she starred.
The problem is that Morris too is married. He and his wife have 3 children together and were married in 2003 and, just like in McPhee’s case, until now, no one had heard anything about their marriage being on the rocks.
TMZ was the first to report the new romance and, even better, it also provides photographic evidence to back it up: Katharine and Michael were caught by the paparazzi kissing in a parking lot.
Seeing how the reports about the affair were already making the rounds, it would be safe to assume the pics went to the highest bidder.
“Sources close to Katharine and Nick tell TMZ, the two have been separated for 6 months and are living apart. They were married in 2008,” the celebrity publication writes.
Neither Katharine nor Michael has said anything on the topic yet but, if you think about it, on-set affairs / celebrity scandals of this type aren’t that rare.
The biggest that comes to mind right now is the LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian affair, which started when they were shooting a TV movie together. They too were caught by the paparazzi kissing, and LeAnn’s husband at the time, Dean Sheremet, found out in the press that his marriage was over.
Eddie’s ex-wife, Brandi Glanville, heard about it over the phone.
Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders, who directed her in “Snow White and the Huntsman,” also became romantically involved during the production and it cost her her relationship with Robert Pattinson, and him his marriage.
