As Supreme Court hearings on gay marriage-related laws are beginning, the Human Rights Campaign debuts a red sign in support for marriage equality.

The symbol promoting acceptance of LGBT unions is a red square including a pink "equal" sign.

The organization has adapted its navy blue and gold logo to raise awareness on the issue, Mashable writes. HRC urges supporters to go red on Facebook to make their opinion known.

"Wear red to show your support of marriage equality. And make your Facebook profile red too!" the gay rights group posts.

As mentioned previously, the highest court is in session over California's Proposition 8, which defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman and the Defense of Marriage Act, through which married LGBT couples are denied federal benefits.
