Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson are joining forces: both acts have just confirmed their participation in the 2013 Honda Civic Tour, which kicks off in August and ends in October, CBS News reports.

Various other acts will also take to the stage as openers, including PJ Morton, Tony Lucca and Rozzi Crane.

“We are very excited to team up with the Honda Civic Tour,” Adam Levine, Maroon 5 frontman, says.

“Kelly, PJ, Rozzi and Tony are all such unique and amazing artists. I'm really looking forward to hitting the road with them. Each night will be a great night of music,” he adds.

Tickets are on sale as of yesterday, April 1 (no joke).

As if that wasn’t enough of a pleasant surprise for fans, Maroon 5 has also revealed plans for a new album, on which they’re already hard at work.

They would not reveal more details about it just now (which makes sense, if you think about it), except to say that it’s “a little darker in sound, maybe back a little bit more to what we kind of did on ‘Songs About Jane’.”
