Marnitek was the first to introduce a ‘Wireless HDMI’ transmitter last year and it seems that the audio/video transfer and connectivity specialist wants to again be the first to out an innovative wireless video broadcasting solution. Known as the GigaView745, the digital audio/video transmitter is designed to be capable of broadcasting from A/V equipment that is not equipped with HDMI.

The company claims that the GigaView745 cannot only transmit signals digitally and wirelessly from the A/V equipment to any other room but that it can do so while keeping the video and sound quality higher than what can be achieved through cables. This is quite a daring statement, considering that cables are normally seen as a solution that enables both a higher image quality and added security. The Marmitek device claims to be able to achieve this feat thanks to the WiVi digital transmission and improved antenna technologies.

The WiVi is responsible with wirelessly transmitting signals without interference, over a distance of up to 100 meters free field or 30 meters through walls and ceilings. These distances are the maximum at which, Marmitek claims, the transmission can be done without any loss in quality. As for the improved antenna technology, this feature actually removes any need for setting up antennae.

The Marmitek GigaView745 can be used to broadcast a TV program from a set-top box to a second TV. This removes the one TV per box limit; unfortunately, the same channel will be displayed on both TV sets since the transmission is practically the same. The transmitter will also be useful for any A/V device with SCART, Composite or S-IDEO outputs. The list of such products features DVD players, decoders, satellite receivers, HDD recorders and set-top boxes.

The manufacturer has already made its GigaView745 available and has given it a price tag of € 299/269 GBP including VAT.
