Mark Zuckerberg is putting on his strong suit and will be braving the Internet next week, in a public Q&A session.

On his Facebook page, the young billionaire explains that every Friday they have such a meeting at Facebook, where employees can ask him questions about anything they want.

“It’s an important part of Facebook’s culture. People ask thoughtful questions about why our company is going in certain directions, what I think about things happening in the world, and how we can continue improving our services for everyone,” Zuck explained, adding that he learns a lot from these sessions, while the questions being asked eventually help build better services.

This tradition is getting extended to the entire Facebook community, so on Thursday, November 6, at 2PM Pacific time, Facebook is hosting its first community Q&A.

Everyone is invited to ask Zuck questions by going to a specially created page dubbed “Q&A with Mark.” You can ask questions as a comment on the post about next week’s event and vote on other questions people have asked by liking them. Since it’s quite possible that the number of questions getting asked will be huge by next week, there will quite possibly be a selection process involved.

The Q&A will be livestreamed on the page and Mark Zuckerberg will post some highlights afterwards. The entire event will only last for about an hour, but he promises to go through as many as possible.

Slowly going viral

The new “Q&A with Mark” page already has over 43,000 likes, which means that next week will be quite interesting. There are over 3,800 comments on the post already and the number keeps growing.

There are already several questions standing out from the bunch, that have attracted quite a few likes already, including why Facebook has forced users to install the messenger app, whether there has actually been a reduction in young US teen engagement with the social network, as has been reported based on various studies, but also how much time Zuckerberg spends on Facebook on average.

This will be an interesting Q&A and there’s still a long way still to submit questions for the youngest self-made billionaire in the world. His charity work and promise to donate a huge portion of his wealth have made him stand out in the world. Last year, for instance, he and his wife, Priscilla, were named the biggest philanthropists of 2013 after donating nearly $1 billion (€795 million).
